Hayley is now doing Origami ,Beware!

Watch out....... now Hayley is doing Origami too!! This is the ball that Hayley folded by herself to make for her teacher at school. It took her a couple of days to make and then I helped her put it together! It was so much cuter in real life than in the pictures but you can get an idea of it.

Chyanne's Halloween Party at Band

These were taken at Chyanne's Band Halloween party. It was fun. I went with her (after getting my costume done 10 min before it was time to go...) I got to be a costume judge but wasn't able to give Chy a prize as she didn't fit any category we were given... both me and the other judge wanted to give her one as she was so cute!!!
Hayley had gone with Jody to Science Olypiad so I went and stole her so she could come to the party.... and she correctly guessed how many Jolly Ranchers were in a bowl.... she guessed 99 and there was ....................... 99! When does that ever happen!!!!!!! WOW! Plus she won some cupcakes at the cake walk....
It is chy's party and her sister takes home all the prizes!!!!

Hayley needs to get more sleep!!!

Hayley..... whatcha doing..... WAKE UP!!!!!

This happened the other night when hayley was talking to me while I was on the computer and she was on the floor playing with the dogs.... it got quite for a few minutes and I look down and both her and Frodo had fallen asleep!
Yes that is a chair leg right by her leg.
After a few minutes Piper wanted to say hi to her and jumped up on her face to say hi..... Hayley opened her eyes a bit and went back to sleep..... I took about 20 pictures with the flash and she didn't even move....
I think she needs to go to bed earlier.... what do you think?

Hayley's Crazy hair day

This is how Hayley looks when she wakes up!!!! Just kidding... This was for crazy hair day at school. It was hard to come up with something to do this yr as her hair is so long a lot of things wouldn't work. So this is what we came up with. It stayed all day!!!! Even with a downpour all day! It was fun and pretty quick to do and she got a lot of comments all day! But she was sure glad to have it out! Don't you just love the crazy outfit she wore to go with it?

Stool/ hair bench makeover

I found this for sale on a yard-sale website.... and it was exactly what I had been looking for, for my bathroom as the kids are almost as tall as me (well chy is) and it was getting really hard on all of us for doing hair. I picked this up for 12 dollars and loved the size as it fit the space exactly as I needed it too...... but wasn't crazy about the color of fabric.... so I decided to redo it.... and now it is so perfect.
Underneath the fabric was a bit scary as it had been recovered before and the original padding and material was almost disintegrating and was so gross, so Jody cut me a new board and I started from scratch. I made it softer for the kids and of coarse covered it with zebra material!!! I didn't bother repainting it as it matches my cabinets color ,scratches and bumps!

Halloween Costumes_ Fairy's and Peter pan

Well here they are..... done and over..... We had our Ward Halloween Party last night... so that was the big night for costumes.... so enjoy.... and yes we even had pointy ears... (Those were Hayley's idea)...... plus lots and lots of sparkles everywhere! Enjoy!

Don't these pictures make you feel cold!!!!

Hayley took these last week when we were downtown in Houston. The clouds were pretty gloomy.
I think she took some pretty good pictures as we were driving around. Don't you..

Flower Origami Ball

This is the flower one we made! I really like this one... It is time consuming but turned out really cute. This one you glue each piece which I didn't like, but at the end I really like the look. Each flower is so cute!!!! The pictures don't do a real good job in showing how cool this one is. I think I will make single flowers and put on gifts etc!

Another origami ball!

This is another ball we made this week!
This was fun to make as it is so different from the other ones... after I got it done we decided to stick a star ball in the middle of it....
This reminds me of a toy Chy had when she was little!

The origami epcot ball

It is bigger than chy's head!!!

Watch out chy!!!!

Pretty cute huh..... I meant chy, not the ball

This one shows how big it is compared to the small one chy usually makes.

Wow, all that work!!!Compared to a pen!!!

This is the second time we have attempted this one. This ball take 270 pieces to make!!!!
Yes, that is alot of paper folding!!!!
We made one last year for Chy's math teacher, but after a year it slowly fell apart and we redid it but it never looked right again, so this one is her replacement.
We made this one bigger and out of thicker paper and a better folding technique, plus I glued each piece in so this one should last for years!!!!

Chy's new Origami Ball/ Star

This is one of the new creations that Chy has been making this week. This is her first one she made. It takes 90 pieces to make this one. It is a fun one as it opens and closes! The middle picture shows it closed while the last one is showing it open. Pretty cool huh! She made another one yesterday and sold it to a boy for 5 dollars..... wow it is finally paying off!

Our book pumpkins

Well, I figured since Chy reads her books in two days, and we have so many of them, I thought I would use a few for our Halloween decorations!!!
No! really, we got a book last year and the printing was messed up, and I saved it for some reason, and then I remembered this craft you can do with books, so we went and bought 2 more dollar books and made some pumpkins with the books. I think they turned out pretty cute!

Free Night of Theater

We got some tickets that were offered for the free night of theater around the county.... We got to see Little Shop of Horror, and Hamlet. Well, we saw half of Hamlet.... We (meaning the girls and I) were laughing so hard that we left during intermission (along with at least 4 other couples). It was a one man play of hamlet where he played all the characters and did different voices and it was very interesting. He did a good job interpreting the play, but it was quite funny how he did that, especially when he took 4 paper cups and made them be characters and talked through them to portray what was happening...... the part that did me in is when (i think) he pretended to pee on stage with sound effects and actions. I still am not sure if he faked it!!!!! Me and Chy were laughing almost the whole time so we thought we should excuse ourselves...... I am still laughing so hard I have tears right now. I swear the guy was a bit crazy with multiple personalities.... not quite sure he was totally acting this part! We had a fun day,.... oh little shop of horror was really well done and fun to see with the girls! But I don't think I will ever look at a Hamlet play again without laughin! I hate to see when I have to help Chy study Hamlet in High school.... that will be fun!

100th blog posting

Wow, I just noticed that I have done a 100 posts!!! Wow........ pretty cool huh? Ok, so everyone else celebrates their milestones, why can't I?!

So proud of her! Was a really long day chaperoning the kids but got to try some new origami balls this time. (as we started the first origami ball last time!!!) So a lot has happened in a yr! Out of 19 kids from Riverwood that went... 14 made the orchestra performance band!

What we do when Chy stays home sick from school

Chyanne was home sick (along with me) this week for a day, and this is what we found to keep ourselves entertained! She has been making origami stars for a year now, and we needed to find something else for her to make, and this is what we found... Now when we tip at resteraunts this is what we will be leaving. Don't you wish you could be our waiter!
We also learned how to fold dollars into an elephant, a bow tie, a heart, a shirt, and a 4 pointed star. But we liked the star the best.
