The semi's starting to pull in to move onto the next town....

Well Chyanne got her dream..... She was invited to observe from the Pit while Wicked was still in town. She got to go to the last show here in Houston and sit next to Thomas Bacon (french horn player) and hear Wicked from inside the Pit.
It was so exciting for her as she has wanted to do that for years. Everything fell into place for her to do this and we were able to make it happen. Some how I was stupid and didn't get a picture of her down there....... oops.
It was a really long day for me... as I had to work and the event had told us the wrong time so I ended up being there alot longer than I planned.... but it worked out that Jody brought Chyanne down to houston for me and we switched Chy for the Chocolate Fountain stuff... and while he was on his way down.... I tried to get tickets for the sold out show. I tried to win a ticket through the lottery they had. While I was standing in the lottery line.. I met this guy that wanted a single ticket too... so we worked out a deal that if one of us won the lottery... the other person would by the second ticket...... but neither of us won!
But after all the drawings they announced that there were a few more tickets available for sale at the box office..... so everyone started running for the box office. I got bottlenecked at the door and didn't make it as fast as my new friend did. He made it first in line!!!. So kinda joking.... I ran up and said......" Hey buy me one too!" I went and got in line...... he turns arounds and says he got me one!!!! We got one of the last tickets for the show!!!!!!!! I couldn't believe it!!!
My seat was a folding chair where a wheelchair can go, but I would have stood in the hall if they would have let me. It was down in the orchestra area so I had a great view of the show. It was so much more fun this time seeing it as I now knew the story and could see all the things I had missed the first time. What a great show.
Chyanne loved being down in the Pit. It was so different being down there. Sounds so much different. She took lots of notes and observed so many things. The conductor that night was so fun to watch. He had such a fun time conducting. He sang every word of the show along with the actors and was very energetic when he was leading the music. He even laughed at the Trombone player when he was spacing off and forgot to play his part! She realized she has some more work to do so that someday she can play as well as the french horn player.
Before the show started.... The new friend that had bought me my ticket (I paid him back!!!!) we started chatting and I found out that he is also a musician/minister and runs another theater here in town and knows alot of the players here in town (he knew the trombone player in the pit)..... and so now we have another contact to work to get Chy some more opportunities. What was the chance of all the people that I could of stood in line with... That I would run into a guy that is a musicain and runs a theater and lines up the musicians and knows other musicians in town that play for theater performances and lives 15 min away from us. Fate!!!????
After the show... we got more autographs.... and got to see the monkey guys hat he wore as a monkey... this was his last show so he got to take his head with him . What a wonderful night!!!!
I still can't believe that this all worked out so that Chy was able to have this opportunity. WOW!

I love this show. We all got to go see wicked in July. I have heard quite of people say they loved it.... but know I know why. It was so worth the money to go see it. Hayley got to tour the theater a couple of months ago where this was, so it was fun for her to see the production from the seats after seeing where they dress, do makeup... the costume room... the hallways... etc.
I loved everything about this performance.. it was so well done. I loved the storyline.
Chyanne loved seeing the people in the pit playing the instruments. We had great seats for the show.....
Was such a fun night out.... We went to Hard Rock Cafe for dinner... (we saw one of the girls that I had done a Prom event with when I worked the Chocolate Fountain job... it was fun to talk to her and see how her newborn son was doing....)
After the show.. we stayed and got autographs from the performers.... We even got Ephaba's (the wicked witch) signature after everyone else had left, because they told everyone that all the performers were gone.... but we stayed about 3 more min and she came out.. Was pretty funny to see her face when she came out to sign autographs and no one was there... but 7 of us!
Then we stayed a few more minutes and this older gentamen came out and we figured he was from the band so we chated with him for about 15 min..... and it led to us getting his home number and email address and him telling us that he would get us the contact info for the french horn player (Thomas bacon.... yea ....go ahead and google him..... he is a pretty big wig in the french horn business.....) so we would see what would happen... maybe sometime Chy would get to sit in the pit during a performance and observe.... MAYBE.... Someday....... maybe...???

I just have to keep showing off the girls hair... cause I know at some point I won't get to do it anymore except for special occasions.... Chy already is usually doing her hair most days. I love how Chy's bun turned out.... some days they work perfect and some days they have a couple of things that bug me..... Today was a good one!
Hayley's bun wasn't my favorite but love the new braid I learned with the ribbon on the front/side. It is a fun one.

Hope you enjoy all the pictures from Hayley's Theatre performance of School House Rock. I had kinda remembered one of the songs this tv program played when I was really young. So it was fun for Hayley to learn some really cute songs and participate in this theater performance. There was a lot of movement and dances, so it was a fun play for everyone. The songs were really easy to learn so she didn't have to study them much at home (almost none). She made a lot of new friends and really enjoyed theater. The kids learned about the technical stuff in the morning like terms, set production, tools, cat walks, lighting, sound... etc. And then in the afternoon they workied on the dances and songs. They did all of it in 2 weeks. I was amazed at how good and polished everything was for only 10 days of working on it.
The kids helped on every aspect of this production. They helped build the set, paint it, made costumes etc. What a great experience. Chyanne was even able to be one of the high school volunteers and got to run one of the spot lights for the show. What fun!!! She was so good at it. She found something else she is good at.

A photographer took head shots of all the kids at Theatre camp. Hayley's turned out so cute I think. I wish my picture of the picture turned out better..... her eyes were so blue!!!!! I love her pose and her smile and eyes. It is really rare to get her smile like this on film... SO cute!! I didn't know they were taking pictures or I would have done a better hairstyle..... but it works.
The next time they came... she had a cool hairstyle but the picture didn't turn out as well..... oh well. I'll take the cute smile!

Hayley's 7 strand braid

Tried a new braid, This one was a 7 strand braid. I love how it turned out. Wasn't too hard... just used every finger... plus a few from chy just cause she was there. It's fun when I have a few extra minutes to try new styles. Next time I want to try a 10 strand .. or maybe 15?!

This is what Chyanne and I saw when we got home from Camp. Hayley had spent most of the week home by herself and with Jody at night. She had made these for us when we were coming home. It was so sweet to see what she came up with using stuff she found in the house. The first sign was on the garage and the last one was inside on the kitchen wall. The round things that say I love you.... those were RITZ crackers... that really cracked me up! The marker was on the bag so they were edible. How cute is she!!!! Love that girl!

We finally made it... all the crafts done... all the shirts redone. The place we went was so nice. Really well kept and really close by. It is a camp for Foster Families to stay. After hurricane Ike... our priesthood helped out and did service projects there to help out that ministry... so in return they let us use their camp free of charge! The leaders cabins (not me though) were nicer than most of our houses.... Really nice guy that ran the place.... Really nice place to go.
