We spent a day at the Houston Space Center. It was a really nice day (spent mostly indoors!!!) It was really fun to see the control centers. We saw the current day one, and the one that they used during all but one of the Apollo flights. It was interesting to see the old control room as they had the old rotary dial phones, no computer keyboard, etc... they used 5 guys to figure a calculation out and when 4 agreed they would go ahead with it.... the fifth guy either agreed or left!!!! Was really fun to see my mom's cousins flight picture and patch. (he is the guy on the top left (Don Lind))
Hayley was chosen out of the audience to participate in the show to show how life is like on the space shuttles. She did such a good job!!! Got the crowd laughing quite a few times.... especially when they showed her the toilet and had her hold onto a tube and then proceeded to tell her what it was used for..... (to suck the pee) The look on her face was priceless... she was quite happy when the lady took it back from her!!!! She is so good in front of crowds!!!
Before we left we stopped at the gift shop and picked up some Freeze dried Chocolate ice cream with choc. chips and some freeze dried apples with cinnamon to eat on the way home. They were actually really good!!!!

That looks like so much fun. It must be great to live in a new town with lots of places to see. I wish we could come visit! We'll have to watch for cheap airfare and Lauren and I will come and leave the boys at home!
